Jean-Luc ist der Sohn von Raymond und Barb Bilodeau. Er hat eine Schwester namens Danielle. Bevor er als Schauspieler bekannt wurde, war er acht Jahre lang Tänzer. Seine hatte erste Filmrolle hatte er 2004 als junger Bobby in Ill Fated. In der Fernsehserie Kyle XY spielt er den Sohn der Psychologin Nicole Trager, die den identitätslosen, aber hochbegabten Kyle in Behandlung hat. 2008 trat Bilodeau als Schrader in dem Horrorfilm Trick ’r Treat auf. Außerdem hatte er eine Gastrolle in den Serien Supernatural und Troop – Die Monsterjäger. 2010 spielte er an der Seite von Debby Ryan in dem Disney-Channel-Film Der 16. Wunsch mit. Im selben Jahr stand er für Nickelodeon-Film Best Player als Ash vor der Kamera, welcher 2011 ausgestrahlt wurde.- 2012
