Melanie Paxson

Melanie Deanne Paxson (née Moore; born September 26, 1972) is an American actress. She is probably best known for her work in commercials.


Paxson is the middle child of three to parents Gay and Randy Moore. An alumna of Mahomet-Seymour High School in Mahomet, Illinois, she first pursued her passion for acting while involved in spring musicals and various plays with her high school's drama club. She attended the University of Missouri and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Paxson was selected from more than 500 actresses to play 'the Voice of Reason' in the Gladware commercials. She currently can be seen in commercials for DayQuil, Yoplait Light, Milo's Kitchen, and Progressive Insurance. She starred in the 2000 feature film Ready to Rumble with David Arquette, Scott Caan, and Oliver Platt.

Paxson has appeared in several TV shows, including The Drew Carey Show, Cupid, and Pyramid. She has also appeared in two episodes of Friends spin-off, Joey, in the episodes "Joey and the Big Break " and "Joey and the Party for Alex", the latter of which remains unaired in the U.S.

Paxson had a starring role opposite John Larroquette and Christine Baranski in the NBC show Happy Family. She had a recurring role on Ally McBeal as a secretary. She portrayed actress Joyce DeWitt in the television film Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three's Company , which was co-produced by DeWitt.

Paxson had a co-starring role on the ABC sitcom Notes from the Underbelly.

Paxson currently has a recurring role as Doris Madigan (née Aidem) on the Nickelodeon show True Jackson, VP.
