The eponymous theatre troupe is rehearsing the Meet the Feebles song with hopes to become good enough to picked up for a syndicated network show and become rich and famous. Heidi, the star of the show, is insulted by Trevor and comes to complain to the man she loves, Bletch, who is actually in an adulterous relationship with Samantha. Bletch only wants to use Heidi to become successful. Meanwhile, Robert, the new member of the team, arrives at the theatre, is civilly received by the stage manager Arthur and quickly falls in love with Lucille, another newcomer.
