Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell is a British-Australian actor, best known for his role as Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break, the title character in John Doe, and Dracula in Blade: Trinity.

  Biography  

 life and career
Purcell was born in Merseyside. At the age of two, Dominic and his family moved from England to Sydney's Bondi and later moved to the Western Suburbs. He is of Irish and Norwegian descent. Purcell attended Blaxland East Public School, and later studied at St Dominic's College, Penrith and McCarthy Catholic College. After becoming a landscape gardener, he soon tired of the profession and, while watching the war movie Platoon, decided to become an actor.

He eventually attended the Australian Theatre for Young People and then later enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he met his future wife Rebecca and studied with Hugh Jackman. With his wife, Rebecca Williamson, he had twin daughters Lily and Augustus.

Purcell began dating actor AnnaLynne McCord in 2011.
